Assanatu Bá was born in Guinea-Bissau in 2006. She moved to Portugal in 2021 to undergo medical treatment for a tumor. She has always loved making up stories in her head, and now, Palavras que Contam (Words that Count) has given her the chance to write her very first book — which she hopes will be the first of many. Assanatu misses her sister and the food from Guinea, but she is happy in Portugal, where she feels as though she is living inside a movie.
